Why does my Z hop sound like a hammer.
-
Try reducing the acceleration.
-
@Phaedrux on Z like this
M201 X6000.00 Y6000.00 Z4000.00 E250.00 ; set accelerations (mm/s^2) M201 X6000.00 Y6000.00 Z1000.00 E250.00 ; set accelerations (mm/s^2)```
-
That's a good start.

@Phaedrux
I still wouldn't recommend using Z-hop on a moving bed printer. There are so many possible side effects when moving a big mass.
I'd switch it off after the first layer. That's where it is most critical not to scrape the nozzle over the fresh print. -
@Karim how much Z hop are you using?
-
@dc42 I am using Prusaslicer 2.5 and this is the only setting I see Z Lift. This printer the Bed is fix and the Nozzle move up and down (Corexy).
-
@Karim that looks reasonable, although you could try using less. I typically use one layer height.
-
@dc42 I am using .6 Nozzle and print @.3 layer height. So what else can I check.
-
Did changing the acceleration help?
Do you have the tension of the Z belt gear reduction set correctly?
-
@Phaedrux lowered Z speed. Sounds better now.
Thanks. -
