That's why I was hoping that someone has direct knowledge, and now that the "revo" is out of beta testing, they'd be able to share that information.

@garyd9 the Revo isn't as long as the V6, so you will need to use a different print cooling fan duct and perhaps a smaller print cooling fan. Other than that, it should fit.

Digging into things, it appears there might be an incompatibility with "revo" heatsink fan and the smart effector. The revo fan is a 20mm x 10mm 5VDC fan, and the smart effector expects either 12v or 24v on that line (as it uses it to power the LEDs.)
What would happen if 5VDC was supplied to the smart effector HF+ line? I'd guess that it might cause a problem with the LED's, but would anything else bad happen?
As an alternative, E3D supplies some kind of 5V "regulator board" that I might be able to stick to the smart effector (depending on how big it is.) Or perhaps I could track down a 20mmx10mm 24VDC fan -- or print some kind of adapter to use the old 30mm 24VDC fan.

@garyd9 the 5v regulator board is tiny do you shouldn't have a problem finding a home for it on the smart effector. It's something like 5mm wide and 20mm long.
The schematic for the smart effector can be found here https://github.com/Duet3D/SmartEffector so you may well just be able to feed the voltage you want to the fan pins (I can't check as I'm on my mobile and can't open then schematics)

I believe the fan wiring is the same in the V3 as in the V2.
The connections are just straight through so any supply voltage is possible - except for the LED compatibility.
The simplest work-around is use the regulator board & mount it at the effector.

E3D have already announced a groove mount V6 size Revo 6 unit for the Revo system.I suspect they will add a threaded V6 Revo one in the very near future, as that is vital for Revo compatibility with the V6 used in the E3D toolchanger system
And, exactly the same heatsink as in the toolchanger V6 head is used with the Smart Effector.
They are the type I need, for both my toolchanging machine and my kossel with smart effector. -
@rjenkinsgb the Revo Six is a groove mount and the Revo Micro is a thread heatsink and then the Revo Hemera they are the current lineup.

Perhaps. The wiring for that would probably be fairly messy, but if it works, I guess that's all that matters. (I'm imagining the two fan wires coming out the underside of the SE, looping back up to a regulator board mounted on the topside of the SE, and two more wires hanging back down to the fan.)
Or, it might be easier to just design something that allows mounting a 30mm fan, even if it's at a slight angle (angled to blow slightly up.)
As for E3D possibly releasing a V6 length threaded sink: It's possible that it happens, but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting.

According to the reseller where I pre-ordered the 24V Revo Micro hotend they said that the 5V shifter comes with the kit - if anyone should be wondering.
I basically only pre-ordered it for it's nozzle swapping capabilities. I weighted my copper plated heater + copper plated nozzle + bi-metal heatbreak Trianglelabs Volcano with the silicone sock and their aluminum heatsink + nylon nut + 30mm fan shroud with a 30mm Sunon V1 - it came in at 46g-ish. That vs. the ~30g of the revo micro (excl. 5V adapter) is barely worth it for chasing the weight...
I also realized that unless they release a high flow version and/or specialized nozzles I'd probably be better off sticking to the V6 ecosystem or getting a pheatus or mosquito..

Are there any solutions for the Revo and the smart effector? I have been working on one but I am not happy with it. Seeing if someone has come up with something.

@aerouta I got as far as printing a mount for a 40mm blower fan, but not a duct for it.

@aerouta I use a 3510 fan for the print fan and a 2510 fan for the hotend fan. I was able to make a 40mm fan work for the print fan, but the clearance was too close for comfort. I find 35mm works nicely. I also replaced the 5V stock Revo fan with a 25mm 24v fan. 25mm was the smallest size I could find that operated on 24v.
