my motor wiring was incorrect; the pairs go in order (AABB). The LED verification of coil pairs was helpful to remedy this. hope this helps someone later on.

Yeah i read that on the wikipedia, it just had me scratching my head because as you can see in the photo the psu states it has 5vsb

I cracked the PSU open last night and 5vsb doesnt exist on the PCB everything is clearly labeled even the non used like -12v

You probably have a bad crimp connection at one end of the transmit or receive data conductor in the cable. The 4-way power and signal cable can be very long but the resistance per conductor should be kept to 0.1 ohms or less. The one on my delta is nearly 2m long.

The ribbon cable used to connect the SD card socket is limited to about 0.4m.

Actually I take some of that back! It still seems like it is taking extremely course steps, so much so that the table and build plate are vibrating. If you look close the build plate you can see it. The belts and fasteners are tight yet it is cogging badly at slow speeds. Is there a way to access the stepper drivers directly to tune them? I will try to post a video in a bit.

Yes there are another 4 CS lines on the expansion bus, allowing a total of 4 daughter boards to be used.

got a new sd card slot from t3p3 fixed it and it runs perfect, i checked out the old slot ….and it was bad contacts inside the sd slot.

Have you tested the LCD SD card using the 10pin cable from Panel Due to Duet? I've created a thread here just wondering if the speed I was getting was normal or maybe slower than normal and due to a cabling issue. It's here if you care to test yours and report back.

Only if the stepper motor/encoder combination has its own controller with a step/dir interface.

A rotary encoder with sufficient resolution to be useful with a stepper motor would be expensive because it would need to resolve about a tenth of a degree.

The components you have outlined comprise the backlight inverter on the TFT panel. I think it's normal for the chip to run warm, but not the other parts.

This has nothing to do with the display being upside down or mirrored. You can adjust the orientation on the Setup page.

EDIT: I just tested my 5" display. The small 6-pin chip does get hot, but not too hot to keep my finger on it.
