Probably. Anything from 1050 on up if you can get it heat treated. 301 stainless would be a great choice because of its corrosion resistance but it's higher CTE may not be so great. It may not like the temperature and warp. Either way you probably cant go wrong with 1095

@breed I use a euclid in mine. The chamber hits around 55 degrees

@breed what we have developed is a print farm solution for Duets running in SBC mode. If there is just one Duet it can run on the same SBC that the Duet is attached to. If there are multiple Duets then a separate SBC may be needed to act as the controller.

Easy enough to do with an SBC.

There’s a decent free evaluation period. If you are only doing small jobs (<1000 lines of gcode) I believe you can continue to use it for free. If you find it suits your needs then it’s not too expensive (£93 one off charge).

@breed have you checked the phases are connected correctly some steppers need the middle two wires crossed over?

my first approach will be 4 feltpens per tool = 16 pens in total. Toolchanging will be totally different of what's common today, but feltpens are different too. Maybe I add a single extruder and try to build a 'texture mapping' color printer later.

I guess, it's easy to extrapolate the required data from the heightmap, but there is no way to split Z-adjustment ATM. Phaedrux called it 'composite Z-axis' but I couldn't find anything about that. There's also no easy way to write a post-processing script, since all heightmaps are different. It could be done on the machine only. Perhaps enhancing DWCs simulation mode, but I wrote this already in the other thread. Too much OT here...
