Panel Due firmware 1.20 released
-
OK. I got it all sorted.
A couple of things since updating the firmware though.
1. On uploading a new config.g file, after the machine re-boots I get an error message on DWC "Request timeout - The last HTTP request has timed out. Please make sure the connection between your device and the board is not interrupted". I can reconnect straight away and everything seems normal. Never had that before and it does it every time. However, as well as updating the PanelDue firmware, I've also changed the network switch to which it was connected from an 8 port to a 12 port. Nothing else has changed - same IP address etc. So I can't say for sure if it's related to the PanelDue firmware update or the new network switch. Alternatively, I have noticed that Firefox seems to be running a bit slow lately so it might be something to do with that? I increased the default notification timeout from 5 to 10 secs but to no avail.
2. My pet hate is still present. That is to say, my tool numbers start at zero but the icons across the top of PanleDue are numbered from 1. To be clear, I have a 4 tool config which I use with the 3 colour hot end. Tools are numbers 0 to 3 inclusive and this is what DWC now shows in the tools and drives sections. But Panel Due still shows them as 1 to 4. No big deal but if you could add it to your to-do list for the next update it would good.
Other Firmware as follows:
Firmware Name: RepRapFirmware for Duet Ethernet
Firmware Electronics: Duet Ethernet 1.0 + DueX5
Firmware Version: 1.20.1RC2 (2018-01-01)
Web Interface Version: 1.20 -
Just noticed a small bug. In Setup when you want to change from Light to Dark it brings up the Light/Dark dialog. But, when you pick either Light or Dark it does not dismiss the dialog and now obscures the Save button.
You can pick the Setup item again and then Save so it's not a big problem but noticeable.
Can't really say if this is the first instance of this bug. -
Thanks for pointing this out. What's happened is that the additional button for configuring the dimming behaviour has pushed the Save & Restart button down a row, so it is now under the Light/Dark selector. I'll fix this in the next release.

I have a CPLD and dimming settings do not do anything, screen never dims.

I was looking in the wiki for the update instructions and they don't appear to be there.
Is this the only place they exist?

hi,
after updating Panel Due to version 1.20(15b1)…. dont conect with Duet... at power on Panel Due show the message conecting in upper right of screen...
I have checked wiring continuity, and is correct.
The screen power on, but dont show info of Duet... Before the update works well...I can downgrade? where i can find an older version.... and what version is confirmed to work?
i have: Panel Due 3 + 5" Screen.
I have instaled this firmware: https://github.com/dc42/PanelDueFirmware/releases/download/1.20/PanelDue-v3-5.0.bin

I can't see any reason why it won't connect. Did you remember to reconnect the cable between PanelDue and your Duet after upgrading the firmware? Perhaps there is a bad crimp connection in the cable, and disconnecting/reconnecting the cable disturbed it.

I've noticed a few times that the 4 macro slots on the main screen will sometimes display the wrong macros if you have gone to the macro screen and entered a subfolder. When you go back to the main screen without going back up a level to the main macro folder it will try and show the first 4 macros from the subfolder rather than the main folder. This leads to the macro names being cut off and displaying incorrectly, and if you try and launch a macro you get an error saying the macro doesn't exist, because it isn't in the subfolder.
I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for reporting that, I'll fix it in the next release.

DC42 – ping, is dimming supposed to work in the C version? because for me it does nothing.
-
I don't think the C version supports dimming via the LED_A pin the way the other displays do. It might support dimming via the controller chip, but I would need the details to be able to program it.
