I'm hoping to post a draft version of the updated Ender 3 Pro Duet 3 Mini 5+ wiring guide tonight. Updated config and tuning guides to follow in coming days.
And here it is: https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/20633/ender-3-pro-and-duet-3-mini-5-guide
A friend of mine who yet has not done much with electronics and coding happens to have one of these "ender" and I just told him how much possibilities he would have with some new mainboard like duet3d -> Hope you finish the guide, because I would really like him to benefit from something more capable, but I do not think alone currently he would manage to upgrade

Few board available on E3donline

Too bad e3d will only use fedex for overseas orders, expensive import fees compared to royal mail.
Anyways, am I right in seeing that if you use PanelDue with the Mini5+ you don't have enough inputs to use the 2 stepper expansion if you want to have endtops/filament sensors for all steppers + z probe? As such Pi + hdmi screen or 12864 might be better options.
Or can the 12864 interface be repurposed for general purpose io? (https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/RepRapFirmware_3_overview#Section_Pin_names_for_Duet_Num_3 isn't updated with the Mini5+ yet)

Repurposing the 12864 pins is not currently supported AFAIK. If you need all 7 IO inputs then the display options are a 12864 or a PI+ display.

Correct, not supported at present.

Royal Mail is really struggling right now, 6+ weeks in some cases. Makes for upset customers.

@elmoret could be worse. Could be PostNL.

or Belguim Post who are currently running 8+ weeks behind

would the Duet 2 Maestro Dual Stepper Driver Expansion Module board work on the duet3mini5+? or will it be a specific board for the duet3mini?
-
@ukwebb It will be a specific board. Coming soon.

I think I like the not currently and not supported at present undertones. And oh dear, I keep forgetting we're relatively okay with pandemic if we ignore some social restrictions that most nerds wouldn't have noticed anyway if it weren't for the masks.. Oh well, no rush - stay safe out there!

Thanks for the hint! It seems I managed to order one.

Have to paid 43€ for tax to France a bit expensive
-
Yikes!
Well, we shall see. Someone has to pay all the years of negotiation. At least I should have a board to test the X-axis of my in-development hightemp 3D printer soon. Buying something else temporarily costs money too.

Hopefully the new eu tax rules will help as of 01.07.2021, but i don't think it's a priority for e3d to adapt to OSS when they have local resellers despite availability being an issue. We got similar rules as of 01.04.2020 and most imports in the 0-300€ range became cheaper, not to mention easier and faster.

That's crazy! is that the Brexit changes kicking in? My understanding was that (other than VAT) there should be no tariffs/duty on goods. VAT should work itself out as UK VAT is the same/similar to other UK countries (~20%).
-
and we are going to get boards out to our European resellers ASAP!

@T3P3Tony the main rule about exporting from UK is that if a product is "at least 20- 40% made in UK" ( depends of category) then there is no extra taxes. There may be some increase in shipping taxes because of the paperwork the UK sender/ carrier needs to fill in.
On topic...I managed to get myself a Duet3 mini and finally get rid of my last non Duet board on my printers. Now just need to forget everything about Marlin and get fully used with RepRap
