Duet 3d did not consider

I am a user of duet and its excellent service, with the arrival of duet 3 I wonder if there is the possibility of updating hardware for users who use on one or more axes, servomotors or closed loop stepper motors, which necessarily require drivers of external.
-
there is the extension boards that are in development.
see for example
https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_3_Expansion_Hardware_Overview -
We are currently prototyping a CAN-connected single-driver expansion board with 5V outputs for step-servo drives and similar.
-
Of course, but this means that you must buy expansion cards by obligation and not by necessity, it does not seem the most just solution.
-
Are you saying that you want to use the external drivers that you already have, instead of buying the duet expansion cards?
-
I use this type of motors that need an external driver to make the closed control loop, if I want to use duet 3, I would need to buy part of the main board, buy expansion boards even when I only use 6 motors.

True, very true.
But if they put support for that sort of thing on the main board then we all would have to pay more and it's likely few of us would get the benefit.

In time we may do a main board variant that supports e.g. 3 internal and 3 external drivers. We are also looking at including encoder interfaces on some boards so that we can do closed loop control.

i am going out on a limb here, but if buy more than on of those HBS57 its going to be the same price if not more.

That will be sweet
