My CoreXY is also supported by a carbon tube. I'm pretty happy with it. Make sure you pick a decent diameter tube and let one side float.
I did that by designing two different carriers, one side clamps the rod, the other is wider to take a 1mm thick PTFE tube, so the rod can slide to compensate thermal expansion.

@dc42 I am breaking the mold a little since this will all end up in a microscope so any LEDs wont be visible anyway and I was hoping to find better encoders but the cnc pendant knobs are a little big. Outside of the cheap ones, it seems that just getting a rotary encoder that had over 400ppr was the next jump but thats a bit excessive for my needs. Maybe i'll regret it, we'll see how long it takes to get this experiment up and running. I really appreciate you filling in the gaps!

Yes. Ideal (if practical to implement) would be to look at the "distance to perimeter" as a trigger to enable IS, with this distance adjustable via IS definition call.

@dc42 Hi using lower current causes more than 1 axis to stall.

ive noticed if i press "emergency stop" in DWC it seems to stall more often, i thought "emergency stop" just runs "cancel.g" but does it do more in the background code .?

There is no config.bak file on the SD, and I do not recall if there ever was. There is one on each of my older Duet 2 wifi boards.

It is not possible that I uploaded a default config file, as the events were a shut-down during a print pause (due to a nozzle clog) on one day (I switched the power off, and then when I switched the power on the next day the Panel Due welcomed me to my 'new Duet'.

@too I'm sorry this has taken so long to resolve and I am glad you found a workaround. I am implementing a fix for M571 when the extruder is driven from a CAN-connected board in RRF 3.5beta2.

@wayneosdias if you already have closed loop motors with drivers that are running well then check out the Duet 3 6XD controller.

If you have existing motors and 1HCLs then a magnetic encoder based board to mount on the back of a Nema17 will be documented and released in around a month.

Just wanted to make people aware that I still have Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet boards available.
I also have a couple of Duet 3 6HC boards available too, available with all the connectors and SBC ribbon cable.

@Dad003 I have been using a belt lifted z axis for a few years. My printer has a 30:1 worm gear drive motor to lift the bed. The worm gear drive is extremely high quality and the 60 tooth drive pulleys yield an even 20 um/full step, which makes for nice round number full step layer thickness multiples. The bed does not move at all when power is cut. This is the Z axis drive unit in my printer.
I run the motor at just over 1/2 its rated current and it has no trouble at all lifting the 3.5 kg bed assembly and an additional 4kg of print mass. The Duet2 controller drives the motor directly- no external driver is needed.

@dhusolo You may want to download it again, Bluetooth is enabled again by default in the latest image. In previous ones it was turned off.

@dc42 not too bad. Max deviations are -.148 and .154 at the low and high end. I measured the trigger heights by taking my bed.g coordinates, driving the nozzle to each point, use G30 S-1 to do a single probe and have it display the trigger height. I'll have to re run auto cal to see what it reads out but my bed leveling looks much better now.

@Sevimuelli if you have a reading from the fan tacho then you can use the daemon.g file to monitor it.
