Duex5 fan voltage
-
@resh no. its a case of VIN or 5v I think but its not on a per fan basis. You'll have to go the buck route
-
@jay_s_uk It won't do 12V? I would be bucking the 24V to 12v if I can do that so both fans are on the same voltage.
-
@resh the duex will do 12v but the duet 2 won't. so you could split them that way I suppose
-
@jay_s_uk So I could do the 12v fan on the duex5 and the 24v fan, (which is VIN) to the duet 2 and I wouldn't need the bucking buck converter?
-
@resh correct
-
@jay_s_uk I've got these wired. Part fan is in F0 on Duet and hotend fan is in F3 on Duex5. First time dealing with fans but it looks correct to me. I want the hotend fan always on. I can't get hotend fan to turn on.

-
Yes it will turn on fan3 when heater1 is over 45c.
-
@phaedrux Thanks for the help. I'm not getting fan3 to turn on when heater1 is over 45c. The part fan is always on so something might be wrong there.
On duet I have the fan jumper on V_fan and VIN, and the part fan(24v) is connected to FAN0. On the duex5 I have the jumper on 12V and the hotend fan(12V) connected to FAN3.

No luck with the change. I checked wiring again and it looks good.

If you send
M106 P3 S1 H-1
does the fan turn on? -
@phaedrux No, it didn't turn on
-
Are you sure you're connected to fan3 on the Duex?
Can you try with a different Duex fan port?
Does that fan work at all?
-
@phaedrux Changed to F4 but I also checked voltage out of the pins when hotend was above 45 and I'm getting no voltage. It's a brand new board. Also checked the jumper connection and it's good.
-
Are you saying it worked on fan4?
-
@phaedrux Sorry, it did not work on fan4. No voltage out of any fan headers on duex.
-
@resh what position do you have the DueX fan voltage selection jumper in? If it's in the 12V position, have you fitted the 12V regulator enable jumper?
-

Duex fan voltage jumper is in the 12v position. I haven't done anything with a 12v regulator jumper. I see on the diagram jumper:INT 12V EN. If that's the jumper there's nothing in it. Thanks for the help.
