NPN 12V Endstops at Duet Wifi
-
Hi everyonbe,
I now intend to upgrade my second printer with a duet In the stock of the Sidwinder X1 I noticed that the endstops with 12 - 24 V work. For this I have attached a picture of the schematic. Is there a way to use them anyway?Greetings from Germany

You could use an opto isolator or similar.

If it's a 1.04 Duet, you can connect the black wire direct to the Z probe In pin. https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Connecting_a_Z_probe#Section_NPN_output_normally_open_inductive_or_capacitive_sensor

Thank you for the answers:-)
Can I do that with the endstops? In the documentary is it about the Z-Probe, or I oversee the part with the Endstops? -
The endstop inputs are limited to about 8V because more might blow the endstop LEDs.

Ok, can I reset the output from the sensor to 5 volts with a resistor?

Two suggestions:
-
Connect them directly. You will only apply 12V to the endstop input if the ground connection to the sensor fails, and the worst that will happen in that case is that the LED may blow (but it's also quite likely that it won't). The processor will still be protected.
-
Connect a small signal Schottky diode (e.g. BAT43 or BAT85) between the sensor output (cathode) and the endstop input (anode).

Ok i will try, Thank you
