Software bundle 3.4.1RC1 now available
-
I am pleased to announce the availability of software 3.4.1 release candidate 1. This fixes a number of bugs in 3.4.0 and improves the handling of and recovery from SPI errors when using an attached single board computer.
Users of Duet + SBC should upgrade from the unstable feed on the Duet3D package server as usual. Other users can find the files at https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/tag/3.4.1rc1.
Here are the links to the change lists:
- RepRapFirmware: https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/wiki/Changelog-RRF-3.x-RC#reprapfirmware-341rc1

- Duet Software Framework: https://github.com/Duet3D/DuetSoftwareFramework/wiki/Changelog-DSF-3.x-RC#version-341-rc1
If you encounter problems with this release, please start a new thread to describe the issue.

fixed this, thanks

I would also encourage the use of the ReleaseMgr plugin by @MintyTrebor to help with highlighting the changes in the release notes that match your duet configuration.

Are the standard plugins getting updates as well to keep them usable?
Mainly speaking about closed loop and Input shaper. -
I uploaded to Duet3 standalone, and board no longer starts. I think I need to find some recovery from this state.
Update from 3.4 -> 3.4.1RC1Edit. Restored 3.4 with bossa, flashed 3.4.1rc1 again - no issues this time. So some kind of a glitch
-
@boa i had an issue with 3.4 where the firmware got wiped from the board.
plug a USB in and see if a BOSSA port appears. If so, reflash the firmware -
@alex-cr There is no need to update them because they target 3.4 and not 3.4.0. If you run into problems, try to download and reinstall the affected plugin(s).

@dc42 We finally had time to install this on a machine. No issues so far, but testing has just begun. Something we'd really like to see addressed in 3.4.1 is fixing job progress when thumbnails are used as the current calculation appears to count the thumbnails as part of the print job, skewing the results.

This should only be an issue when the print file is small. It won't be changed in 3.4.1 but is already on the list for 3.5.

@dc42 Thanks for the response. I do want to point out that it does affect larger jobs as well when multiple thumbnails are embedded. However, this isn't a showstopper - just something we'd like to see addressed soon as we really like the thumbnail feature!

Having issues with the 3.4.0-b1 input shaping plugin not wanting to install on DWC 3.4.1-rc1 for some reason
EDIT: found out that the plugin was looking for DWC 3.4.0, changed it to 3.4 and repacked it so now it works

it still contains the following BUG:
