Duet2 wifi blew power supply during PID tuning
-
I am configuring a Duet2 wifi on a Tevo Little Monster. I finished the Z calibration then ran PID tuning for the nozzle. At around 190C the power supply blew a couple of mosfets. The fuse on the power supply did not blow and the fuse on the Duet2 board did not blow. The board survived the event. Is there any diagnostic information saved on the board? I do not want to blow another power supply. Any other thoughts??

This may sound possibly offensive but is not meant that way ..... buy a better power supply! A good quality supply will limit it's output if the power draw is too much. It also has over heat protection.
Of course there is always the possibility that the power supply was just simply defective.
I do not know what supplies Tevo uses but it might be 'cheap and cheerful'. It is possible that the requested output was too close to it's maximum (optimistic output specs).Sorry to be blunt ....

I'm surprised it blew on the hotend heater. A high wattage bed heater I could see, but the hotend?
There won't be anything useful saved after the power went out. The next time you boot up the board it would only tell you that the last shutdown was from powerloss.
Get a Meanwell PSU that meets your requirements.

@jens55 Not offensive. That is reality.... you get what you pay for.

@phaedrux Thank you. I replaced the power supply with one I had from a HE3D kit. It is probably low quality too. If it blows up, I will get something better.

@avery1701 I second the recommendation to use a Meanwell or similar quality PSU. My delta a originally used a cheap no-name Chinese PSU. After quite a lot of use, a strange smell started coming from it. On investigation, this is what I found:
The toroidal inductor and load resistor had overheated.
