yes to convert between mm/s and mm/min you either divide or multiply by 60
-
@phaedrux Another thing im trying to figure out is I keep getting a fault when heating the bed. Says its heating slower than expected but for a bed heater its heating up just fine. Can't seem to figure out what to adjust. Currently the bed is set up on Bang Bang
-
PID tune the bed
-
@phaedrux I need to pid tune on Bang Bang? Not very familiar with that method I guess.
Same M303 Gcode used for tuning the hot end? -
@kwad3d Basically the same yes.
https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Tuning_the_heater_temperature_control
-
@phaedrux Ok. Every other time I installed a duet I got lucky with Ban Bang and didn't have to do it. For some reason on all my duet set ups I have to run hotter temps for my materials to flow correctly. Curious if I have the thermistors set up wrong or something.
-
possibly. What are your thermistor settings? What thermistor do you have?
-
@phaedrux I'm using a standard Cartridge thermistor from E3D. set to option 5 when configured in Marlin. Here is the section from my config.g
; Heaters
M308 S0 P"bedtemp" Y"thermistor" T100000 B4138 ; configure sensor 0 as thermistor on pin bedtemp
M950 H0 C"bedheat" T0 ; create bed heater output on bedheat and map it to sensor 0
M307 H0 B1 S1.00 ; enable bang-bang mode for the bed heater and set PWM limit
M140 H0 ; map heated bed to heater 0
M143 H0 S120 ; set temperature limit for heater 0 to 120C
M308 S1 P"e0temp" Y"thermistor" T100000 B4138 ; configure sensor 1 as thermistor on pin e0temp
M950 H1 C"e0heat" T1 ; create nozzle heater output on e0heat and map it to sensor 1
M307 H1 B0 S1.00 ; disable bang-bang mode for heater and set PWM limit
M143 H1 S280 ; set temperature limit for heater 1 to 280C -

the write up was asking me to update firmware before I was even connected to my network.
@Phaedrux
The part about 'getting started' was written long before DWC was official or even standard. In these days it was common sense to configure your 3D printer HW through USB, but that has changed obviously.@phaedrux said in Updating firmware.:

KUDOs for your patience

E3D thermistors are configured like this, T100000 B4725 C7.06e-8
-
@rushmere3d Thanks I will try that Thermistor config. Do I just replace everything past Y"thermister" on the M308 line with the info you provided? just double checking before making a change to the config as Im a little rusty on Reprap

You change the B parameter and the C parameter (or add it if it is missing)

Ok that seems to have my temps at normal levels. After pid tuning with M303 I enter M500 and get a Warning about no M501 was executed in config.g. Does that mean the tune did not save?
-
The tune saved, but now you have to add M501 to the end of config.g to load those saved results at boot up.
-
@phaedrux So I have been tuning for a few days and Im trying to set up pressure advance now. Im following the guide at https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Pressure_advance but I don't see any change vertically in the print. However the test print looks great.

@phaedrux Thanks for the input. I will try that tomorrow. So it was on but my settings were holding it back?
-
Most likely yes.
