1LC Connector pack misses connector for TEMP_1
-
Hi,
I just bought a new 1LC board because I shorted out the one I head leading to a visible exothermic phenomenon .... I also ordered a new connector pack because I knew the v1.0 board has an additional connector (IO2).
To make space, the TEMP_1 connector was switched to a JST-ZH 2x1 connector from the green screw-pole connector that was on the v0.6 board.Unfortunately, the connector pack does not come with a connector for TEMP_1. What's a good source to get a pre-crimped JST-ZH 2x1 cable set similar to the 3x1 and 4x1s in the Connector pack? My usual sources seem to lack 2x1 ones ....

Video...or it didn't happen
Re: jst cable. Do you keep your old worn out fans? Maybe you find one with the right connector

@o_lampe nice thinking, but those are usually JST-XH....
I don't have a video, but here is an image of the aftermath:

@oliof
Nice I can smell it
The description says it's a JST VH. Maybe you have better luck finding these? The Toolboard has an optional connector pack which includes the following: 3-way JST ZH tail 150mm with plug (optional filament monitor connector) 4-way JST ZH tail 150mm with plug (CAN in) 4-way JST PH tail 300mm with plug (motor connector) 2-way JST VH housing & crimps

@o_lampe JST-VH is for the VIN and is included. Please look at the wiring diagram where you see the green screw pole connector at the bottom of my photo has been replaced by two JST-ZH connectors:

Does ebay count?
-
@phaedrux considering I am currently ordering a set from a dubious seller on aliexpress, ebay does count. But also take this as an enhancement request for the Connector kit to include a 2x1 ZH connector in the future (-:

Wow, I've never seen a melted TMC2209 before! Did it just happen, or did something like a short circuit cause it?

@dc42 I shorted it while live with a copper cable by being an idiot. It popped sparks and then burned like a match with a yellow-white flame until I overcame my shock and cut power.

I am in the uk and bought a pack each of 5 of the 2 and 3 pins with tails from here

@oliof, I am sorry the connector was missing. In the next design revision of the Tool Board we're changing to JST PH (2mm) connectors throughout, except for the power in, heater out, SWD and CAN connectors. I have already checked that the specification for the connector kit is correct.

@dc42 For the stepper connector, why was the JST-PH variant used instead of the more common JST-XH.
I bought a PH connector and pin pack and they are really difficult to crimp and insert into the connector.
I think it took me 3 goes to get it right!Also!.... Something I mentioned to Tony, could you not include a terminating resistor or 2 in the connecting pack.
Normally I would not have components kicking around but as I work with CANBus lighting systems I had a couple lying around.
I would of been stuffed now that the local Maplins have shutdown.P.

I found cheap connectors on ebay and ordered them. This topic is solved but will stay around as a testament to my stupidity (-:
@dc42 glad to hear the next revision of the toolboard will have different connectors which are a bit easier to get hold of (and crimp). Luckily, I don't immediately need the second thermistor input right now (although I plan to use it to test heatsink/hotend performance in the future).
