Duet 3 Mini 5+ : Initial announcement
-
@Serbitar as far as I'm aware, the expansion board hasn't been released yet
-
We have started to get stock out to our resellers of the mini 2+ expansion board. I don't have an exact date of when they will be able to list them yet.
-
To answer my own question - they are available now at E3D
-
@T3P3Tony Thanks. I look forward to being able to order
-
For Europe this is an option for ordering the Mini 2+

-
as a workaround you can use a 12mm m2 screw and nuts.
-
@Veti yeah sure there are many WA(s) possible assuming you have material... that was NOT the point...
-
We are looking into this.
-
@oc_geek thanks for bringing this to our attention. We had planned on including these with the Mainboard connector packs but have now reassessed that plan.
We are sending connector packs for the mini 2+ to our resellers. Some will go today, some will go on Monday (to resellers who have already had mini 2+ sent to them). From when the resellers get these going forward will mini 2+ boards will be sent with connector packs.
-
@T3P3Tony sounds a good plan for who has yet to order the Mini 2+ ... but what about who (like me) have received it WITHOUT those ? ....
-
@oc_geek we will ask the resellers to send out to all customers that have already had one!
-
Is there a UK site which will allow me to pre-order a Duet 3 mini 5+?
The E3D site doesn't seem to allow pre-ordering, (or am I missing something)(else!)
Cheers,
Dafydd

the mini has already been released, just sold out in the uk.
other reseller still have them.
-
@Veti
Thanks. I'll keep looking through other UK resellers. -
-
it looks like the only place you can't get them is the UK ?
-
@peter247 AFAIK we have now sent stock to both e3d and ooznest so hopefully they will restock soon!
-
Out of stock at both E3D and Ooznest. The latter said they weren't stocking them at the moment? Perhaps I missread their message: "This is not an item we carry at the moment I am afraid, we don't currently have an eta."
With the CAN bus and Raspberry Pi features weighing on the same class of processor as the Duet 2 is this likely to be a slightly lower ultimate performance - aside from the lower motor current?
Edit: Noticed that RAM and flash for the mini has doubled. Will this have any appreciable effect when it is running the same firmware?
-
@DocTrucker I checked our end and we are definitely supplying both E3D and Ooznest, just give us a chance to get them out the door!
The mini use a SAME5x processor which as you note has more flash and RAM than the SAM4E processor on the Duet2. They both feature floating point and a ARM4 core running at 120Mhz. Performance, where comparable, will be very similar. The mini has more headroom for future firmware features.
