RE: Z Homing
@cosmowave thank you. Yes it is triggered I believe. What do I need to change in firmware ?

Z Homing
Setting up a new printer , Duet 3 6hc, 3.3 firmware. Sensorless homing XY and end stop for Z min. When trying to home Z the stepper motor moves axis about 5 mm no matter where it starts from. I have tried another driver, different stepper and having the stepper free from the Z axis. All cases the same result. I will post homez.g and relevant config.g pics

RE: Duex 2 disabling X,Y and Z axis
@dc42 Thanks for your help. It turned out to be a break in the supply circuit. Your comment made me investigate the incoming power. At the Duex incoming power terminals I measured 24v but there was a dry joint on the neutral connection to the board, manufacturing fault. I resoldered it and now everything is working as it should. Once again, thank you

RE: Duex 2 disabling X,Y and Z axis
@dc42 No, both the supply and the ribbon were connected. No magic smoke leaked and M115 reported Duet 2 and Duex 2

RE: Duex 2 disabling X,Y and Z axis
@phaedrux Do you want a photo of the supply to the Duex and the ribbon cable ?
It's late now where I am so will do it tomorrow morning as the Duex is not currently connected -
RE: Duex 2 disabling X,Y and Z axis
@phaedrux The stepper cables are plugged in as the config shows. All I did was add the Duex, then came to a halt because of the title of the post

RE: Duex 2 disabling X,Y and Z axis
@phaedrux Yes I know, but is the Duet steppers being disabled because the Duex is plugged in normal ? I don't want to change a working config just to find out that defining steppers on the Duex doesn't work. My plan was to add the Duex and then set up the Z drivers, but a spanner got thrown in when the Duet steppers stopped operation

RE: Duex 2 disabling X,Y and Z axis
@phaedrux The page I referenced in the post said Duex is supported in firmware 1.16 and later. No mention was made of config changes. Basically check the wiring is correct and plug in. M115 reports Duet2 and Duex2, heaters work but not the steppers.

Duex 2 disabling X,Y and Z axis
When the Duex2 is connected to Duet WiFi all the stepper motors are disabled. I followed the steps in this link https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duex2_and_Duex5_Features . When the Duex is unplugged the printer acts as normal. I have tried several times, all with the same result. Firmware version 2.05.1

RE: Pin linked to stepper motor
@o_lampe Yes, Object Model is enabled. I've never dealt with macros so I have no idea where to start

RE: Pin linked to stepper motor
@o_lampe Thank you but I'm a bit lost. Could you possibly supply an example of how I would set that up ?

Pin linked to stepper motor
Is it possible to link any pin to stepper motor being enabled ? I am using servos as brakes for the Z axis and currently 'brake on' is the default and wish to set it up to release when voltage is applied to one of the 3 Z motors . I am using Duet 2 WiFi with Duex 5

Firmware 2.05.1 to 3
I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A NEW DUET2 WIFI CURRENTLY RUNNING 2.05.1 FIRMWARE. I HAVE FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DUET INSTALLING FIRMWARE PAGE TO UPDATE TO FIRMWARE 3. HAVE TRIED SEVERAL VARIANTS OF 3: 3.0, 3.1, 3.2. ALL WITH THE SAME RESULT. PANELDUE SHOWS "FILE TOO BIG" EACH OF THE BIN FILE ARE ABOUT 500KB. IS THERE SOMETHING I NEED TO DO TO UPDATE SUCCESSFULLY ?
