Autodesk printer? Powered by Duet

Yes that's correct, a collaboration between Autodesk, Warwick School of Engineering and Duet3D. I expect a lot more details will be published in the upcoming months. It has some very cool aspects: especially the bed and the print head.

@o_lampe As I said, messy. The wastefulness seems to be a thing of the past, some manufacturers now make powder where they promise 100% re-usability.

@dc42 There is a further 32K that is used for NVM emulation to hold the stack/registers after a reset. This is rather wasteful but on the chips we currently support not really an issue.

Some other things are also a little different in that we have additional code to support any mixture of TMC2208/2209/5160 drivers. A software based UART (for TMC drivers) and software SPI. I'm also pretty sure that our CoreN2G has rahter more in it than strictly needed.

@benko hi! I stumbled across this thread while trying to adapt my Makergear M3 IDEX to prusaslicer. On marlin, but we're trying to accomplish the same thing!

The start g -code goes under "Printer Settings -> Custome G-Code -> Start Gcode"

Could I see your tool change g-code? That's where I'm stuck.

ok see if that improves the benchy. nearly 1cm difference for retraction is a lot.

if its otherwise functional you could look into com2com / socat to setup some virtual serial ports to tap into the communication between whatever software it comes with.

@alankilian I noted the lack of nylon washers but I appreciate your comment. I'll definitely have it in mind.

@Phaedrux Yes, it was a bit of a gamble but seems the case. I've a week off work soon so hope to get my other printer converted over to Duet then.
