virus warnings on one of my duets running same firmware versions
-
Firmware version?
What device on your network has IP address 192.168.0.3 ?
-
It runs on 3.3 firmware and it is in point access mode so I don't think there are any other things connected to the IP address for as far as i know..?
-
Is 192.168.0.3 the device you're accessing the Duet from?
-
@phaedrux Not sure how to check for this, but if I look at the IP address list in the windows CMD than it shows the following line
IPv4 address ........... 192.168.0.3 (prefeferred) -
@tricep-terry what's the IP address of the Duet? Assuming it's not caused by a virus, it looks to me that Windows Update or another program on your PC is trying to download a file from the Duet. Perhaps the IP address currently used by the Duet was previously used by some other device?
-
@dc42 Hey, sorry for my delayed reply, the IP address of the duet is 192.168.0.1, and I've had the problem using multiple different computers... I do have multiple duets and I always give them the same IP address as I only use them in point access mode.
Kind regards,
Max -
It looks like the PC is trying to use the Duet as an internet access point to run windows updates. The Duet is reporting on the constant access requests. Does that PC have another connection with internet access?
-
@phaedrux Hey, there are networks available for it, however its not connected to them and the auto connect is switch of towards these networks
-
Just make Duet fro other subnet
i.e
192.168.5.1 -
@martin7404 Will give this a try!
-
@tricep-terry we hope to release RRF 3.4.1rc1 within the next day or two, and that version no longer produces the virus warning. However, that won't fix the underlying issue, which is that Windows is repeatedly trying to download some sort of update file from the Duet. At best this will slightly slow down your PC and the network.
