E3d v6 thermistor settings …
-
The E3D troubleshooting page is wrong. The wiki and the E3D installation page are correct. 4388 was a good choice before RRF supported the C parameter, but now 4725 with the correct C parameter is better.

Good to know, that's what I've got.
Which means its not related to my globbing

I also have the E3D V6, I have only been working with the Duet Wifi for about a week now, very please with it. I just did some experiments with the B setting, I have a Fluke 54II K thermometer with their surface probe which I have been using for many years to trouble shoot refrigeration equipment, it is very accurate. I found with the setting of B4725 the hot end overshot about 30C. I changed the C0 to C7.06e-8 and now the temperature is right on. Fortunately I read the WIKI and found the graph with the settings.
Thanks, Ed

B4725 with C0 would indeed give the wrong readings. With C0 you should use B4388, which is what we recommended before RRF supported the C parameter.

So my config lists
M305 P1 T100000 B4725 C0 R4700
so is that correct based on a genuine V6?
Sorry new to firmware and don't understand the C parameter.

Just noticed the settings on my other machine are
M305 P1 T100000 B4725 C7.060000e-8 R4700
With the same setup.

I`m using M305 P1 B4725 C7.060000e-8 from e3d's docs is that wrong ?

That is correct.

@dc42 Ok, now I am confused.
I am using this setting atm: M305 P1 T100000 B4725 R4700
If I change this to: M305 P1 T100000 R47000 B4725 C7.060000e-8, I have a temperature difference of 40°C (!!) at 220°C

I am not at all surprised, because B4725 with C0 is completely wrong for that thermistor.
