Upgrade from Duet2 Wifi to Duet2 Ethernet or Duet3
-
We have a Duet2Wifo on our Modix Big Meter and must upgrade it to an ethernet based controller for network security reasons. Is the Duet2 Ethernet a direct swap our for the Duet2 Wifi or are there other changes needed? The system has the 7-inch Duet3d touchscreen.
Or if we wanted to upgrade to a Duet3 with Ethernet wat is required as well?

@bstump Duet Ethernet is a direct swap for Duet WiFi except for the following:
- You my need to make a small change to your config.g file
- You need to make sure there is enough space next to the Duet to accommodate the Ethernet plug and cable
Note, if your Duet WiFi is running firmware 2.x then you will need to downgrade the firmware on the Ethernet board, to maintain compatibility with your config.g file, because new Duet boards are shipped with RepRapFirmware 3.

The form factor of the Duet3 board is a bit different, so mounting would change. The Duet3 requires RRF3, so your config.g would need to be migrated if you weren't using RRF3 already. And the motor plugs are different/larger so some re-crimping would be required.
