I’ve had some help on my missing E steps but can’t fathom it out, if anyone could shed some light?
Mini 5 sbc 3.3b2

LDO .9 at 1120ma
16 microstepping 830 estepsIf i extrude 100mm I’m exactly 50mm on the money short. G1 F100 E200, various extrudes from 205 - 250 PLA and the result is consistent.
Input shaping is disabled, what could I be missing?? (Apart from steps lol) -
What are you referring to?

Apologies, how do you mean?
Esteps are set at 830n(3:1) /16 microstepping .9 motor, when I extrude 100mm it only feeds 50mm of filament. What could cause this or what have parameters could I have missed? -

G1 F100 E200
I'm sure it's just a typo, but this line would (try to) extrude 200mm at a speed of 100mm/min.
How did you set the thumb-screw on the extruder? To tight and you kill the motor, to loose and it doesn't grip the filament.

G1 E100 F200How did you set the thumb-screw on the extruder?
I back the thumb screw off when loading, tighten until it feeds then give + 1/2 turn, if it was too loose I would get inconsistent results and im guessing too tight would also give inconsistencies. It is 50% short exactly and consistently. -

@carcamerarig you don't seem to be loading that Config-overide.g file tho think you may need something like a M501 at the end of your Config.g to do so (Please check the M code first tho as I don't use it so I could have remembered wrong.

What are you referring to?
Turns out if I put a second M92 parameter later on in config.g it resolves.
with only the 1st line if I run M92 I get:
m92
Steps/mm: X: 200.000, Y: 200.000, Z: 400.000, E: 420.000Then after add the:
M92 X200.00 Y200.00 Z400.00 E830.00 ; Set steps per mm
at the end of config.g M92 returns the correct esteps.
m92
Steps/mm: X: 200.000, Y: 200.000, Z: 400.000, E: 830.000is it a bug or something somewhere else overriding the earlier line??
I've checked file by file all the .g files in sys, and all the macro files for a duplicate M92 line but nothing.... -
@carcamerarig can you post your full config.g as it is now? I referred this issue to @dc42 as there was another report of extruder stepping problems on 3.3b2.

You need to move your M584 command earlier in config.g
Order dependence
M584 must come earlier in config.g than any M350 and M906 commands. If it creates new axes, it must also be earlier than any M92, M201, M203, M208, M350, M566, M574, M667 and M669 commands.

@carcamerarig as @Phaedrux says, move M584. Could you also send M92 and M350 before making the change, with the second M92 removed (so as original) and with M584 moved, with and without second M92? (Obviously resetting between each change.) That should show if there’s some other bug, or if the issue is just the M584 position.
