Someone evidently didn't look at the specs before posting....
-
@CaLviNx forgive me i did not know there was a data sheet with specs as the board is still in testing and things can change before the release

The PCB is not the same between wifi and ethernet like for Duet2 ?
I love the possibility to swap from wifi to Ethernet by swap the wifi module to Ethernet module on Duet 2, it's cheaper than buy an another Duet. -
@pipersw no its not the same
-
for 5 steppers motors at 1.4A, the TMC2209 need active cooling with the board mounted vertically ?

Probably wise to use a fan, but my guess is that you wouldn't get any overheat warnings even without fan cooling.
-
Great that sd-slot doesnΒ΄t sit under the ethernet any more, so easier to get the card out
-
@dc42 Thermal via are available on the bottom side under the TMC, for allow to add a heatsink to increase the thermal area ?
Like it :
-
@pipersw
thats a clone of the duet 3. hmm
most of the time the clones cheap out on the copper in the pcb, which means the pcb can not act as a heatsink like its supposed to. that is why you see heatsinks on the clone boards. -

Just to clarify, we expect to have almost 300 pre-production boards early in December, so there should be enough for those who want to try them.
Any news about how early in December? It is getting later and later ...
Cheers, Chriss

They are in production right now! We want to give our resellers a chance to get them into stock as well. We have not made a decision if we will re-open the website for ordering these at the same time.
-
@T3P3Tony
No worries here... I do not care whether I order them at you or at a reseller. But I want one of them. I have the frame here ready to fit the board in.
And I'm sure that I'm not the only one in this situation. So I do not want to end where all the PSP buyers ended.
