Warning with PID tuning
-
Greetings
I a new to the Duet world having come from the Replicape world.
I have a Prusa I3 that I want to us with a Flex3Drive.So I am running the PID autotune and I get this error. Everything works but I just want to check if this is really a problem.

Warning: Heater 1 appears to be over-powered and a fire risk! If left on at full power, its temperature is predicted to reach 714C.
Auto tune heater 1 completed in 118 sec
Use M307 H1 to see the result, or M500 to save the result in config-override.gHere are the results of M307

M307 H1
Heater 1 model: gain 672.7, time constant 75.5, dead time 9.5, max PWM 1.00, mode: PID
Computed PID parameters for setpoint change: P2.1, I0.028, D14.0
Computed PID parameters for load change: P2.1, I0.116, D14.0Thanks and I'll be here all week!

What is your heater resistance and your power supply voltage?

I'm guessing that you are using an E3D or similar hot end with a 40W heater and a silicone sock. The silicone socks increase the heater gain substantially, hence the "fire risk" warning. It's not uncommon to see this. If it worries you, change to a 25W heater cartridge.

Yes to all! Thanks. And after tuning it is not an issue. Thanks
