Power Loss Recovery and Power Supply Question

I'm using a 24V WehoLRS-400 at the moment. However, power loss recovery doesn't seem to work properly with this power supply, but does with Weho S-350.
My initial conclusion is that the capacitors in the LRS-400 are smaller and do not store enough power to lift the nozzle 3mm and retract 5mm of the filament. While the S-350 does have large enough capacitors for this.
Does anyone know if there is a good way of determining if a power supply can support this feature? Also if you think there is a way to get the LRS-400 to work?
The LRS series is smaller and more efficient so I'd like to use that, but not having power loss recovery is a deal breaker so I will switch to an S series if it is not possible with the LRS series.

I've seen it mentioned that you can add your own capacitor, so it is possible, but I'm not familiar enough with it to suggest what kind of capacitor or how to attach it.

That's right. Most PSUs have 3 sets of + and - output terminals. if one of those pairs is spare, the simplest way is to connect the capacitor to those spare terminals. A capacitance of 10000uF rated at 35V should help. be sure to get the + and - connections the right way round, or the capacitor will explode.
