How to connect Z probe, that is connected to 24V VIN
-
Hi, I am realllllly new to duets, how to connect 3-wire Z probe that is connected to 24V VIN, do I have to connect an resistor to the signal? Idk if it is NPN or PNP, how should I find out? if it triggers it gives 24V to the signal, is it PNP or NPN?

To find out if it is NPN or PNP, look up its part number on the web. To find out how to connect it, see the Wiki page on connecting and configuring a Z probe. It's in the Duet Hardware section.

@dc42 hi, now I know it is NPN, how should I wire it? The wiki page did nit help me much, if I understand it, connect the + on the probe to VIN and the ground to the ground on the connector, but like this it will give 24V to the signal pin, is it ok?

Why didn't the wiki page help? It has a section connecting an NPN-output sensor.

@dc42 idk why but it did not, I have Duet WiFi 1.02, could you explain it for a normal person? maybe picture?

NPN output normally-open inductive or capacitive sensor
Duet 2 Maestro, or revision 1.04 or later of Duet WiFi or Duet Ethernet: you can connect the output of the sensor directly to the Z-probe IN pin.
Other Duets: Connect the output wire of the sensor to the cathode of a diode, and the anode of the diode to the Z probe IN pin. The diode should preferably be a small-signal Schottky diode such as BAT43 or BAT85, but a small signal silicon diode such as 1N4148 works for some people.
All Duets: Connect the sensor ground wire to a ground pin on the Duet, and the sensor's + power wire to a suitable voltage (typically to VIN because these sensors usually need between 6 and 30V power).
Select mode 5 (P5) in the M558 command, also include parameter I1 in the M558 command.
Is there a particular part of it that you didn't understand? For a 1.02 Duet WiFi you will need a diode as described in the text. I agree that a diagram would be helpful, but I don't have time to do one today.

Is the same connection guide what a i need to wire a npn inductive sensor for endstop?

Yes, if the endstop needs a greater supply voltage than 5V.

I will purchase the diodes next monday.
Can I test the output to ensure not burn the duet? -

Can I test the output to ensure not burn the duet?Yes, if you have a multimeter you can connect it between the output and +3.3V or +5V to show when the sensor is triggered.
The purpose of the diode is to protect the Duet if the ground wire of the sensor breaks or gets disconnected.
