Filament sensor duet wifi 1.20
-
Hello everybody,
i bought this filament sensorthere is a microswitch into the white cover.
How can I set the firmware on duet wifi 1.20?I wired on sensor on E0 endstop pins and the second on E1 endstop pins. I tried with:
M591 D0 P1 C3
M591 D1 P1 C4and now?
thank's

I think you also want P2 as you should have a high connection when filament is in sensor. Someone correct me if I am wrong

Use a multimeter to identify which 2 of the 3 wires from the sensor are the contacts that are closed when filament is present and open when filament is not present. Connect those 2 wires to the outer 2 pins of the endstop connector, leaving the 3rd wire not connected. Use P2 in your M591 commands.

I tried your solution, but I have a question:
With the multimeter, I identify the white and red wires. I connect the white wire onto the E1stop pin and the red wire onto the GND pin. It's not working.
What's the problem?thanks

How have you tested it? Filament monitoring is only active when printing a file from SD card.

I would like to thank all for this question - as I was just setting up and connecting my filament out sensors using a mini-micro switch (tyipical endstop switch).
I didn't read anywhere about just using 2 wires - and having all three just wasn't working.
for polbofree … if it makes any difference for you - I had to disconnect (not use) my voltage-in wire (the middle one on the DuetWifi endstop) .. and just used the two outside signal and ground.
... anyway I hope you get your's working ... but - again thank you for the question and Dc42's response!
Dc42 - will your new optical/laser sensor use all 3 wires?

Yes the laser sensor uses 3 wires.
