Scanning Z-Probe with Buildtak FlexPlate
-
I'm planing out a design for a new printer. I've been using the BuildTak flexplate system and love it, but I've also seen the Scanning Z-Probe and would like to try it as well.
Does anyone know if they are compatible? My thought is that the magnetic field from the flexplate would interfere with the induction sensor, but thought I'd ask before making a decision. The Scanning Z-probe product page doesn't say one way or the other.

@aeronaut99 As far as I'm aware, the SZP is not affected by the magnets used in magnetic beds. The BuildTak system uses a flexible spring steel sheet on top of the magnets, and it's this that the SZP senses.
I'll double check and add it to the SZP page.

@aeronaut99 I use a magnetic build plate with 9 magnets holding it in place. The SZP registers the bed surface as up to about 0.1mm lower over the centres of the magnets.

@dc42 Just wanted to chime in with my 2 cents worth opinion:
The magnetic sheets used for build plates often have alternating magnetic polarisation. Like the one I use for my capacitive probe.
I never had a problem with that, but the SZP might.
