Does my can "spiral" have negative impact on print quality?
-
I'm trying to improve print quality on my RatRig VCore 3.1 400 printer, which is running a 6HC + 1LC combo.
I've gone down really low (1 on x/y) jerk in PrusaSlicer and have external perimeters at 85mm/sec and 2500 in acceleration, but still I get some ringing.
I do have IS active, but I'm really unsure how to set it up correctly and I don't fully understand what the graphs mean or indicate.
How ever, as the numbers I'm running are significantly lower than may other people (mostly Klipper) I'm wondering what else can be affecting my results negatively and one thing that comes to mind is my spring or spiral that holds up my can cable. When the head is moving quickly it starts wiggling, not sure though if it has an impact or not?
My IS readings.

Here you can see a video of how the head and spiral is moving, first it does a few perimeters (slowly) then goes on to infilling at 300mm/s and 5k accl.

You could try adding a retractable cable to help dampen the cable movement, or even just try and steady it by hand to see if it makes a difference to your graph.

@Phaedrux I did remove the coil spring today and got these readings.
No IS.
ZVD 63Hz.
But the test print turned out equal or even slightly worse than before for some reason I can't understand.

Should I enable "Capture data during the whole length of the move" or not?
Without that gives a significantly different result, why all of a sudden is Z so high? -
@Reine the frequencies of Z vibrations are quite high, so they may well be caused by something other than ringing e.g. a fan.
