FDM Printer w/Heated enclosure & Duet3D board?
-
I have three machines that are all identical running in a production environment - Raise3D N2 series machines with lots of mods including Duet2 Wifi boards. I have one of them setup with a smaller nozzle for smaller parts. I'm contemplating adding a 4th machine for the smaller parts so I can up my throughput for bigger parts.
I don't have much time to build/modify a machine though, so wondering about available machines that would check all the boxes on my wish list.
- Duet3D control board
- Heated enclosure with temperature control (I currently run at 55C)
- Compatible with E3D nozzles
- BL-Touch or other z-axis probe
- Minimum build plate dimensions 8"x8".
I currently run 12"x12" and that would be better.
Business is good so I'm willing/able to spend a few bucks to get a machine that can hit the ground running.
IDEX would be great as I could run some parts in duplication mode as well as open up some other opportunities, but it is not a requirement here.
I believe the MakerGear Ultra One checks some of these boxes, but it's pretty spendy and I'm not real keen on their 3D printed extruder body. It's also not compatible with E3D nozzles - I might be able to design a work-around. I don't think it's heated inside, but it is enclosed.
BCN3D has some options, but I haven't turned up what control board they're using. Will be contacting them.
Any tips on options I should look at?

Perhaps an @oozeBot would fit the bill?

@zemlin BCN3D uses 2.85mm filaments, so may not be interesting.
You might want to look into RailCore mini for a small, enclosed machine.

@zemlin We'd love to talk to you about your needs! You might end up considering replacing those Raise3D machines with ours as well.
Full disclosure - we are a few weeks out from launching as we made the decision to upgrade to the new LGX Pro extruder (metal gears). As soon as those arrive, we'll begin taking orders.
Check out our (very wordy) pamphlet linked below for more info.
If interested, drop us an email at sales@oozebot.com. Thanks

Yeah - that's a deal-breaker. Thanks.

@zemlin Depending on your budget the VisionMiner IDEX22 / AddWise IDEX could be an option. Based on Duet board, IDEX, heated chamber, but not necessarily a small machine.

Yeah - my space is limited for a 4th machine - but that looks like a decent rig. I could make it fit if I had to. Price tag is a little higher than I'm hoping for, but not out of reach if it's the right answer. Thanks.

Pics of the final test print before packing it up! Printed in ABS with.333mm layer height.

@oozebot you have Z banding there....
-
@tinchus no- that’s not z-banding.. that’s me opening the chambers doors multiple times during the print. We utilize a belt driven z-axis which glides on smooth rods.
