There seems to be some burn marks near the fan header?
-
i didnt see anything burn out and it dpoesnt have that unique smell?i only had one 5v pwm fan hoooked to it but are you talking about between Y endstop and fan 2?
-
I am trying to work out what could have gone wrong with this board. Few questions:
why is there burns here:
Why is the housing removed form the fan voltage select header:
You say that the ESP and card reader get hot. That indicates they have been damaged, does the ESP still get hot without the SD card in? This damage normally happens when VIN voltage is applied to the 3.3V signal lines.

@T3P3Tony the housing was removed by accident came up with the jumper when II had 24 v hotend fan and switched to 12 v I used a a step down buck with positive connected as per douziki come to think of why the burn marks I did a hot shrink repair but board was off and used a hot air gun pretty positive that had no effect do you think because that housing was off that the vin power touched ocb and caused short?
-
@T3P3Tony and yes components get hot with nothing attached
-
@KevinSant what can it touch the 5v pin ? and why would that make those lights freeze? so now what throw it in trash and get another or would it be cheaper to get repaired being less than a month old
-
Given the damage to the board the best we can do is offer a reduced cost refurbished unit on exchange. If that's of interest to you, please contact roland@duet3d.com to inquire about availability. Please include a link to this thread.
