PanelDue - 1000+ cable possible?
-
Anyone using 1,000mm or longer paneldue cable. I was going to experiment with thicker gauge >22awg, but thought I would ask around first. Also, any shielding required due to (radio) noise?

I too was thinking of geting a longer cable for the PanelDuo and checked the wiki, found this information:
The length of the cable is not critical, however the resistance per conductor should not exceed 0.1 ohm. The cables supplied by Escher3D and T3P3 are about 800mm long. ```[https://duet3d.com/wiki/Connecting_an_LCD_control_panel#Connecting_a_PanelDue](https://duet3d.com/wiki/Connecting_an_LCD_control_panel#Connecting_a_PanelDue)

If my math is correct (or online calculator) it's about 0.084 ohm for a metre of 24 AWG copper wire. So that should do.
If you are worried for noise I would get some copper foil or copper wire mesh tubing to wrap around the wires and solder to ground in both ends. If you do please insulate the shield as well, maybe using shrink wrap or electricians tape (dont recommend as it gets sticky by time)

Or make it simple and go for something like this

The PanelDue cable on my delta is more than 1.5m long. It's 4 core unshielded cable.
