SD CARD 1 doesn't panelue sd card
-
I think that's to be expected: https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Connecting_an_LCD_control_panel#Section_PanelDue_3_connection_matrix
-
@Phaedrux Doesn't say thing about that, or mention a Duet 3 Mini+
-
You're right. Checking.
-
sd card support is on the todo list.
its not implemented at the moment as far as i know for the duet 3 series. -
As I suspected, the mini5 is in the same boat as the Duet 3 6HC.
Here's what David had to say: "Yes, that's expected. If RPi can support SPI-connected SD cards then it would be possible to makeup a special cable to connect the SD card pins of PanelDue to the Pi, however work on DSF would still be needed to make it available."
So it's something on the list to look into but nothing at the moment.

Actually it's a configuration issue on the RaspPi. DSF scans for available mount points every few seconds and when it detects new items they're shown as "SD cards" in DWC. That's the same reason the first boot partition of Raspbian shows up as "SD Card 1".
With some extra work it would be probably easier to set up usbmount or another auto-mount utility on the Pi and to use a USB drive instead of an SD card (although I suppose something similar could be achieved with a USB <-> SD adapter). The only things that needs to be taken care of are permissions. Starting from software version 3.2 the
dsf
user and/or group will require read access to mount points to use them. It might suffice to add thedsf
user to thedisk
orusers
group too (sudo gpasswd -a dsf disk
). However a restart might be still required.I bet it is possible to hook up the PanelDue SD card connector to the RaspPi expansion header but that's nothing I would recommend because it may interfere with the communication to the Duet which could lead to potential instability.
-
@Phaedrux On a Duet 2 that was on the machine, I could read the card, but not write. Using the 10pin cable, that's stated to allow the paneldue sd card access.
-
could perhaps use the second spi bus to avoid interfering with the one used for the duet, think all 40 pin pi's have two spi busses, then fuse to overlay or something while waiting for proper support
-
@Stephen6309, as you are using a Pi, why not mount somethink like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15cm-USB-2-0-Panel-Mount-A-Female-Socket-to-A-Type-Male-Plug-Cable-008742/192949267567 next to the PanelDue?
-
@dc42 I've seen that, but I thought the one on the 4.3 screen would work. Haven't had a real need to use a seperate sd card.
