Duet 3 dual z axis wiring
-
Hello everybody
I am a happy owner of a duet 3 6hc too.
I have a customized ender 3 pro with two z motors (dual z axis)
Therefore, I would like to know how I can connect the two z axis pins to my duet 3 mainboard and also to configure on this website:https://configtool.reprapfirmware.org/Start
I am thanking you in advance
Cheers

You would start with a single z axis configuration using the web tool, and then manually add the second driver to the Z axis configuration in M584.
To show you exactly what to change you'd need to share your existing config for the single driver and then tell us which additional driver you want to use.

Hi, thanks a lot for answering
I will show u the config file as soon as possible.
I am not as fast as i wanted
First I have to put all these pins correctly to the mainboard, afterwards I have to configure it.
Let see what will happen
Unfortunately, I am not a IT specialist.Thinks in advance
Cheers Joel

G'day
Well I had thought about this kind of cable for dual z axisIs it possible? ![0_1607323165010_IMG_20201207_073603.jpg](Lade 100% hoch)
Hope u can see the picture
Well actually it is one cable with two stepper motor pins on the one site and on the other site it has a pin directly to the duet 3 mainboard.
Does it work?
Thanks a lot in advance
Best regards

Your uploaded photo did not work.

You can use a cable like that if the phases are correctly connected, but it's simpler to connect the two Z motors to separate outputs on the Duet, assuming you have spare outputs.

Dear sir
Thanks for answeringWell, in the beginning I had the same idea.
But I didn't find out how to configure the second stepper motor for the other z axis on
https://configtool.reprapfirmware.org/Start
It shows me just X, Y, Z, E1, E2, E3.I would definitely be interested in finding the solution of this issue and absolutely pleased if you could help me. Leading through my problem.
Thanks a lot in advance
Best regards

As I said above:

To show you exactly what to change you'd need to share your existing config for the single driver and then tell us which additional driver you want to use.
The tool can only create a basic setup. Adding the second Z driver is quite easy though, we just need to know which drivers you are connected to.
When wiring up the motors, verify the phases first.
