Belt Bed Machine support
-
I am interested in building a 3d Printer with a Belt Bed, there XY is on a 45 degree angle.
not sure what would be needed for the Duet to support this type of machine if anything.

Yeah pretty cool machine, (and also the blackbelt). Do you know if they are handling this in the slicer or the firmware? I ask because watching videos of how it works it would appear it would need to be sliced in a certain way to deal with laying down layers at a 45 degree angle.
I suppose the slicer could rotate the model by 45 degrees so that each layer was oriented correctly, at that point is it not a Cartesian machine?

Looks to me that it can be handled entirely in firmware as a variant of CoreXZ kinematics. The existing CoreXZ kinematics may even handle it already because it allows you to adjust the X and Z scale factors.

I heard the gcode was post processed to offset everything. also i saw a post about a modified version of cura, but i cant find it again lol.

Here is a similar design that uses a carbon fiber belt.
