Duet3D connection
-
Hello,
We have problems with our DUER3 control unit.
We connected the control unit duet 3 according to your setup on duet3d.dozuki. When the source was connected, the control unit started smoked a bit. After connecting the other connectors, we found out that the 5 and 3.3 V power supply does not work. The printer only prints if the usb connector is connected to the computer. We try to connect another DUET3 control unit in the same way and it works correctly. We wanted to ask if it would be possible to repair or replace the control unit, or at least find out what we did wrong during the connection. We could send the wrong unit to your adress... Thank you. @Anna-Rolcova Was anything other than the main power connected to the Duet 3 when it failed?
-
Just drivers...

and ventilator and endstops.

Would you be able to provide a few close up well lit photos of both sides of the board?
-
@Phaedrux Yes! ![IMG_7101.JPG](/assets/uploads/files/1592921822 749-img_7101-resized.jpg)

I can also send these photos in high resolution to your mail.
V light indicator doesn't work. -
The board has not been cleaned?
One of the power inductors is clearly not soldered correctly (the big grey box with 6R8 thats at an angle with its pad next to it) - so the board will not work. But no signs of where any smoke would have originated. (maybe its neighbour is looking a bit toasty actually)\
in any case best to wait for the Duet people to take alook.

Thank you for the photos. 6R8 is definitely askew. Please contact your reseller and initiate a warranty return. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

I strongly suspect that one of the 5V pins was shorted to ground when the smoke was produced, so please check your wiring very carefully,

@Phaedrux We bought the Duet3D directly from you (invoice no. 0043). Is it possible to send a new piece? Could you please contact me via email to resolve? Thank you.
