check the current draw and actual voltage at the printer terminals? could either be poor connections, thin wires or a wide range of issues.
if you don't have the means to measure, check what the duet says the voltage is when printer is ide; if it reports the correct voltage at idle, the problem should be with the wirng or the power supply.
