Recommended crimper for Duet3
-
Hello,
I bought Duet3 and Duet EB1, but I can't find information about recommended crimper for motor terminals. I only found links for Duet2 crimpers.
Can you send me any links for recommended crimpers?Best regards,

I bought these https://cpc.farnell.com/multicomp/ht-225d/crimp-tool-ratchet-30-18awg/dp/CN16614?CMP=TREML007-005
They work very well -
@felek https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_3_Mainboard_6HC_Wiring_Diagram#Section_Important_notes first important note.
I got these ones https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002L6HJ8W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 expensive, but well worth the money if you do a lot of crimping.
I have to say, I love the larger JST VH series connector they are a dream to crimp lol

I recommend Engineer PA21. The 2.2 and 2.5mm openings are excellent for crimping the VH connectors for the motors and heaters, and the 1.6 and 1.9mm openings work on the KK connectors.

@jay_s_uk @dc42 @richardmckenna Thanks for your help and links.
@richardmckenna I haven't seen this information, but next time I'll check documentation precisely .

I've done quite a bit of component/panel prefab wiring in my line of work.
IMHO, the correct tools for a Duet 2 install are a pair of Engineer PA09's, and a proper bootlace crimper (which often come in a comprehensive set of bootlace ends). Not so sure about the Duet models you've mentioned.
From memory, the motor connectors were pretty small?
A set of verniers and a pair of reading glasses will make the day go better as well.

while a great tool, it falls short of the 3.96 VH connector used on the Duet3. The big brother suggested by dc42 is more suited.
(on that note the IWISS IWS-2820 (PA-9 clone) only goes up to 2.2mm but they also make a bigger version, i still prefer the engineer tools though) -

Fair enough. I've got both as it goes.
What's that big VH connector going onto? A motor?

Motors and hot-ends
