Mechanical bed leveling deprecated?
-
Hi,
I am using a Duet 2 Wifi/Duex 2 for a CoreXY printer with 3 independent Z lead screws. Since upgrading to the latest firmware 2.03, my Duet informs me that mechanical bed leveling is deprecated and that I should use mesh bed leveling instead.
My plan was to use mechanical leveling to get the bed approximately level (i.e. to get comparable height on the Z screws), and to use mesh bed leveling to account for irregularities in my build plate.
Mesh bed leveling works, but I see the printer move along the Z axis quite a bit to compensate for the irregular height on the Z screws.
How am I supposed to get the Z height on the 3 screws in the ballpark without mechanical leveling? Is there any other procedure I could use? (I could turn off the printer, and move the Z axes by hand, but that seems a bit pedestrian.)
Thanks and best regards

It's 3-, 4- and 5-point bed compensation that's deprecated, not true bed levelling. if you are getting that deprecation message, then you haven't set up true bed levelling properly, so the firmware thinks you want to do bed compensation instead.

Ok, thanks for the clarification! I'll re-read the respective parts of the documentation :-).
