Magnetic Filament Sensor NEW Issue(s)
-
So, I bought originally two laser filament sensors and simply couldn't get them work. I got a Magnetic Sensor from Filastruder with the hopes that this would be easier. But I am still struggling. I have checked my wiring a million times and all it right.
After I installed it, I see the green light three times, and then it flashes RED - Green - Red - Green and so on. When I put filament through it it blinks rapid green. I don't see any explanation about a altering Green/Red flashing at idle?
Any way I installed, sent the M591with all the recommended parameters. I then send a print to the printer, and as soon as the printer receives the GCODE, I get almost an immediate "Filament Sensor E0 is not working". I clear it and resume and again it keeps popping up. It won't even let the printer heat. It's throwing the code before it will heat. I messed with it and adjusted everything I can think of and no go.
It's also not clear where the M591 and parameters should reside? config.g? start GCODE?
Lastly I think this might be my issue. My printer is a SeeMeCNC Artemis. I have been told from purchase to never update the FW to Duet 2.02. My question among other things is, do I need to update my FW to get this sensor to work properly? I don't see anywhere where it references the FW other than the An parameter in the help guides.
Thank You.

The magnetic filament sensor requires at least 2.03
-
Well that is good to know. Thank You. I wish it stated that as a prerequisite on the install page. I appreciate the response.

It does say it on the dozuki install page under configuring filament monitor

I have added a note in the introduction to the documentation page about firmware verisons to make it clearer, also added some more information about LED flashes:
-
@T3P3Tony Thank You! But what about at idle when it flashes GREEN-RED-GREEN-RED etc.

@TheLightSpeed said in Magnetic Filament Sensor NEW Issue(s):

That's normal. Green means it is sending sensor movement data. Red means it is sending status information, which it only does when there is no new movement data.
-
The green LED will then flash periodically red and green indicating communication to the Duet (the green flashes are position reports, the red ones are status reports).

Hello,
where i can buy actually one magnetic sensor in germany?Micha.

@Micha you can buy it direct from the Duet website I believe. The website should have a list of suppliers.
