Expansion Board External Stepper Motors
-
Could anyone point me to the documentation for the Expansion Board for adding external motor drivers? I need to see what IC chips are being used on the board and how they're connected. The motor driver I want to use needs at least 4.5V for the hi signal for the logic level input and the Duet can only output 3.3V. However, I still want to use the Duex and was only going to take a few pins from the 50 pin connector. I can't do that if I use the expansion board so I need to know the connections made on that board to the IC chips in order to make my own.

You can tap into the expansion bus if you clamp a third 50-way connector on to the ribbon cable. However, if you have a DueX5 connected then the firmware will assume that all the drivers connected to it are TMC2660 and will try to drive them accordingly.
If you use a DueX2 then you can drive 3 external stepper drivers using the unused motor signals on the expansion bus.
You can also connect 2 external stepper drivers to the CONN_LCD connector.
