No back light 5" LCD

if thats the same 5inch screen that i have then R6 is fitted so you could try refitting it.
-
EDIT: this is probably the wrong schematic. Please ignore.
According to this schematic R6 should be a short.

Thats the schematic for the Paneldue control board, not the LCD screen (which is from a third party). Atleast thats what it looks like - that does not look like the PanelDue 5i.
-
@zapta so does that mean i can just solder a bridge to those 2 pads?
-
@t3p3tony what do you mean by refitting? I don't have the resistor anymore
-
@dhusolo good point - fitting a new one!

Yes, I think you are right. The original picture here is of the LCD board (?), not the plug-in controller.

I may made a mistake. I assumed that the picture you sent is of the plugin controller but it may be in fact a picture of the LCD board.
-
@zapta it's of the actual LCD
-
Yes that resistor is part of the backlight circuit. Its value on my 5" TFT screen is 2R7.
-
@dc42 Thanks! so that means it's a 2.7 ohm resistor.
Figures I don't have any 2R7 surface mount resistors. I'm assuming they don't have to be surface mount resistors and the more common metal film would work

sure, if you can mount it, it'll work just fine. regular through hole will also have a greater power rating, 1/4w for through hole vs 1/8w or less for the smd
