That seems weird, the documentation says that it defaults to 0.5 for 1.17 which should be worse. Almost sounds like a bug ?

You probably won't get more than 10C overshoot assuming you have the correct voltage heater for your power supply. I suggest you choose a target temperature that you commonly print at.

I'll switch over to relative extrusion when Cura starts supporting it and in the meantime I'll litter the header and footer G-Code with M83 / M82 where required.

Looks like there is no 3.3V supply. I suggest you ask for a replacement board. Are any of the ICs getting hot?

I occasionally take the sd card out and back it up, but for any small changes I just comment out the previous settings and insert new ones using the editor on the web interface. You can add a date to the changes as a comment, and then tidy away old settings once you've determined the new ones are an improvement.

A "backup sd config" option on web interface would be very useful.

If you press the erase button and then reset button, you should be able to re-flash the firmware. This would then cause the PanelDue to prompt you for the touch screen calibration before it does anything else.

You might be able to force this by just unplugging the LCD from the 40-pin section PanelDue controller board and then plugging it back in, but not I'm sure.

So I got myself a FlashAir card, but transferring files to it is horribly slow, at around 30-50 KB/s. I can transfer files between machines on my Wi-Fi network at 20+ MB/s. FlashAir often also seems to crash randomly and either stop responding to pings or stop responding to HTTP (WebDAV) requests. Oh well.

What I mistook for missed steps was actually just a loss of torque. It turns out my travel speeds and acceleration speeds were a bit ambitious! Thank you for the help!

I suggest you use the System Editor function in the web interface to open the config.g file, and check the machine name in the M550 command.

I will try multiple prints and decrease flow with 5% at a time and see where I get the best result

This is kind of wierd but I've never printed a vase yet. I should try that, and then see if I can get that velocity painting to work. That's just too cool.

The dead time measurement is the least accurate part of the PID tuning process. The value you get seems to vary somewhat with the M303 S parameter you use, which isn't right. So I'm looking at an improved way of measuring it in the next release.

Reducing the dead time further may help, but if you go too low then the temperature will oscillate. You can adjust it while you are printing, if you don't mind the possibility of ruining the print if it does oscillate..

I am manegd to print the lizard.gcode my tower are on 1000mA extruder 800mA
extruder steps/mm set to 500 . printhead E3D volcano 0,8mm
only issue i have was the temp. setting in the lizard gcode was set too low , i had continues put it back To 210° els it would not stick to my buildtac heatbed .
