@samlogan87 hardware is in the order of weeks. Firmware we have one critical thing to test. once that is done I will know more.

@pastthepoint There is nothing obvious pointing to why this board failed so we will replace it under warranty. It will be good to get the board back to see what is loading the 5V rail in this way. Please send an email to warranty@duet3d.com and reference this thread.

As I already mentioned the two most likely things i have seen to cause this in the past is something faulty on the 5V or a stepper motor fault that ends up blowing the driver (and internally the driver shorts 5V to ground). Please make sure your extruder and stepper motor are grounded.

Well, the problem is solved, it came from the phases of the motors and the creality cables that are all black and in the end I was going crazy. Thank you very much to all

@dc42 Thanks. This is exactly how I use it on the first printer. Sufficient 5V power supply and jumpers as you wrote. I just didn't want to solder on the new board. That's why I asked if there was any other solution.

@alankilian To confirm I was able to replace the fuse and switch from the external 5v back to jumping the pins for using the internal 5v converter without getting any errors. Thanks to everyone that helped!!

Hi @t3p3tony, I disassembled the print head and checked every wiring. Therey may have been a loose wire behind the tool fan, I'm not completely sure. I also changed the wires of the thermistor as I suspected these most likely to be the problem.
Since then the printer worked without any further incident - I will carefully check the next prints.
I can't really comprehend why the resistor R21 of temp0 is damaged now but I would really like to have it repaired because the temp0 port is at a better position for my wiring. Any suggestions?

Try and tie down what part of the gcode file has this issue, the shorter and more reproducible the better.

Its hard to say or to determinate which code is doing it, as there seems to be some background (firmware) code to be involved as well.

I think that it happens with both tools, but I will investigate more into it, to see if I can find more details or something reproducible.

@pcr I started using klipper back in the day when there was no such thing as input shaping with the adxl available in rrf. I also wanted a wifi connection for my old duet maestro^^

I needed to set the correct C value in the heater section. Solved...

@zapta Yes kind of - some connectors are ultrasonic welded.

Most definitely not something available to the hobbyist nor necessary for a 3D printer.

Well, it is getting colder and low humidity so static discharge might be a candidate to this.

I've currently connected all the non-button related LCD pins to try to get the screen to turn on when the printer is powered on and show something, nothing so far. Flipped the connectors in the LCD, still nothing. I'm running the latest Duet firmware and RRF configurer. I've modified my config file with the following:

M575 P1 S1 B57600
M918
