However, having played around with the addons, the offender seems to be the
addon "DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials".

If the Privacy Essentials is enabled when DWC initiates, the the tool temperature graph and the Height map do not work (tool graph is blank, height map is not available. However, proving PE is disabled at the start, then enabling it during the session doesn't seem to affect DWC, the graph and height map stay available.
But if I then close the tab but not the browser while PE is enabled, and then re- connect to DWC n the tool graphs and height map are once again disabled. The first time I checked for Add-On effects I did not close and reconnect for each add on disabled.

(DuckDuckGo is my chosen search engine and the Privacy Essentials claims to enforce "no tracking" protocols and other good practices, although I still seem to end up with an absurd number of tracking cookies despite its actions)

So a sort of solution at my end, thank you.

@jay_s_uk @robinS3 I doubt that, I've been using Firefox for DWC development and I have never had problems with the temp charts or height map controls. Perhaps 2D/3D components are disabled in the Firefox config.

In Firefox press F12 to open the dev tools and check the JS console for error messages.

Both heaters and tools can have names (so you can have a tool called "mixing" with heaters named "mixingH1", "mixingH2" etc)

it worked, suggesting that it wasn't static arcing from the TC to me but very much the other way round. Fixated as I was on 'the machine' I didn't reason it out. The reason I was getting such a reaction was that the earth is very effective, from the top plate down a back pillar through the earthing strap to the PSU and then down the power cable Earth.

I'd also forgotten that a Core XY printer uses both X and Y motors for any change in the XY position, where a Cartesian Printer is isolated in X or Y. If one motor isn't pulling its weight, the other will see the drag as potentially a stall (and the config I downloaded has a number of notations where DC42 had made variations from the 'standard' values in the config.g example. The 'Homing buttons tend to bang into the end stops and I haven't yet tuned stall detection.

Yout trigger heights look very high too. Please check that the two white IR LEDs and the black phototransistor at the bottom edge of the bard are not contaminated with filament or anything else. You can clean them using a cotton bud moistened in isopropyl alcohol.
