@rabbit currently the laser configuration in RRF is not part of the tool definition. We intend to change this in a future version of RRF; but for now you need to use the M452 command (https://docs.duet3d.com/en/User_manual/Reference/Gcodes#m452-select-laser-device-mode) to switch the machine into laser mode.

You can still use M563 to define tools, but the laser function will work even when you don't have a tool selected.

@rabbit yes that should work, but don't try to do send a print file through USB because the Pi won't know that you are doing a print from file. And be careful of ground loops.

Since the working area is quite large (1500mm x 600mm) I can't go above 300 mm/min jerk without having excesive vibrations.

no, that was milled from 7075 aluminum.

Filastruder appear to have them in stock now, but is there somewhere closer to home (UK) to order them, cant see them on E3Ds site? x

Not yet because the Object Model is still being added too. There are omre new entries coming in RRF 3.01-RC4, after that it should be more stable.

You can explore the OM provided by your version of RRF like this:

Send: M409 without parameters. This will list the top-level elements in the 'response' field.

For each of those top-level elements (or just the ones you are interested in), send: M409 K"xxx" where xxx is the element. Paste the response into https://codebeautify.org/jsonviewer and click Tree Viewer to make ti easy to read and navigate.
