Hi Thanks for the help, up a running ok.
Looks like a new bed plate called for!

@Notepad a small amount of metal several mm above the coil won't matter as long as its position is fixed native to the coil. The BLTouch is mostly plastic anyway.

@ortondale The BLTouch SZP coil at Formnext was a prototype. It's other feature was that its mounting centres matched the BLTouch. I think it hasn't been fully tested to see if any parts of the BLTouch affected the SZP readings. @T3P3Tony would know that, or if there are any of these coils any available.

I don't have the full schematic of the existing coils to know if they could be drilled, apart from the images shown here, which do make it look like there's space: https://docs.duet3d.com/en/Duet3D_hardware/Duet_3_family/Duet_3_Scanning_Z_Probe#coil-dimensions
Though I'm not sure if it would affect the SZP reading, or if I'd be brave enough to drill one out myself!

@ortondale Yep the ESP8266 (in fact most/all ESP devices) used for the WiFi module only supports WiFi over 2.4GHz.

@bearer Thermistor to another connector gave a negative result. Ran your macro and the bed heated ok so re-checked bed thermistor. Rightly or wrongly I used the bed thermistor tracers and soldered the thermistor at the centre of the bed. Consequently I’ve ended up with a dry joint. Wired a new thermistor directly to board connector and running ok at the moment. Thanks a lot for your help
