@luca-Massimiliano the colors for the steppers reflect the typical colors of the wires on steppers. As such, the red and black do not refer to voltage and gnd. Unfortunately the allocation of colors to stepper phases is not standardized, so you will need to check phase pairs (by measuring resistance for example) to ensure stepper wiring is correct.
I'll take another look as soon as I get the chance. This was not the behavior in one of the 3.5 rc's - hence the workaround. I've not checked for a while - will report back as soon as I can.
