Is it possible you have an intermittent break in the 5v supply cable that is causing a startup check?

Alternatively it could be interference being picked up and triggering a deploy? Can you move the bltouch cabling to separate it from other wiring?

Yes, and if we look at the data sheet for the driver here is what they say about calibration.

7.1 Automatic Tuning StealthChop2 integrates an automatic tuning procedure (AT), which adapts the most important operating parameters to the motor automatically. This way, StealthChop2 allows high motor dynamics and supports powering down the motor to very low currents. Just two steps have to be respected by the motion controller for best results: Start with the motor in standstill, but powered with nominal run current (AT#1). Move the motor at a medium velocity, e.g. as part of a homing procedure (AT#2).

Will check the voltage again...there was no reading the last time. I got the Duet3 working, but can't seem to get the UART on OI_1 to work with Arduino. Not sure what the issue there is....wiring is correct and the pin out appears to be sending a signal....wonder if the threshold voltage for reading is not quite there...might try a logic shifter

Thanks all that was the issue firmware and missing Q500...got everything showing now. though managed to damage wire to the panel due...back to recrimping.

@ktapper Not sure if that matters. Logic can be totally independent from physical connection.

Remove the ignore machine boundaries command. I think that's changing your position out of bounds.
