Because it's the 5v input for the board. You have to connect this pin to the 5v power supply and put the jumper to 5v ext in order to use this pin.

as far as i understand, dc said that at the moment that is hard coded. but he was looking into changing that.

yeah but lets say you spliced the gcode, you would still have 2 separate tools with a tool change? no?
any gcode magic to work 2 tools at the same time?
