RE: Ender 5 plus with Duet3d mini5+ PD7i and E3D Hemera config help
@Jeronimo88 said in Ender 5 plus with Duet3d mini5+ PD7i and E3D Hemera config help:
It homes to the right back corner(where the microswitches are)
Isn't this a high end of the axis?
Did you try moving the axes after home? (not sure it's a good idea to do it unattended)I think than for high end end-stops, you M574 must use "2" on the axis, not "1"
something like this:... ; Endstops M574 X2 S1 P"!io5.in" ; configure switch-type (e.g. microswitch) endstop for high end on X via pin !io5.in M574 Y2 S1 P"!io6.in" ; configure switch-type (e.g. microswitch) endstop for high end on Y via pin !io6.incode_text ....

Upgrading I3 (clone) to IDEX - some questions
Hi all,
i finally got some time to tinker again and I'm ready to finish this old project, but have some questions.
To begin with - I do upgrade my secondary i3-style (geetech clone) printer as a hobby, I am absolutely aware there are better options to build on top of, but this is my first printer and was my workhorse for many years, so it have a special value to me.my current setup:
I3 clone, Cartesian, upgraded to IDEX (on X axis )
200/200mm bed
Duet mini 3+, with expansion board for the second tool (RRFW 3.5.0-rc1)
Tool 1 (left) - e3d Titan extruder, with V6 hot end (0,4mm hardened nozzle)
Tool 2 (right) - Orbiter 1.5, with V6 hot end (0,5mm nozzle)My questions:
- Is the sensor-less homing precise enough to use it on U axis (tool2)?
- if yes on the above - will it be better to switch X axis (tool1) to sensor-less also?
- due to the huge difference in the extruders, and my wish to keep rotational forces to minimum on both axes, my U axis (tool2) is +7mm in Y direction - Is it allowed at all, and is there any limitations to use it like so?
And to use this topic instead of opening a new one, one additional question in regards to my second machine (build from scratch coreXY with Duet6ch/RRFW3.5.0-rc1 and PanelDue 5i/FW3.5.0-rc7):
- my panel Due 5i do not go to screensaver while printing (only), but do goes to screensaver while machine is idle, is this expected behavior and if not can it be fixed somehow?
I think it is like so, since Duet6ch was upgraded to FW3.4.6, and am pretty sure display did go to sleep before that.

RE: Help for translation needed
Can try to help with Bulgarian if required...
I personally - will not use it as here most of us are used to English terms. -
RE: Frustration with PLA prints not sticking
Hi again,
Just want to tell the outcome:
cleaned the bed with 95% IPA one and then printed the first layer with 10mm/sec for 3 parts one after over.
These two steps (especially printing first layer slow) made THE difference!Thank you so much for the advises!
PS
and sorry for the delay with confirmation -
RE: Frustration with PLA prints not sticking
@fcwilt thanks for the advice - my initial layer speed was set to 30mm/sec...
will try now to go slower.@Phaedrux on recycled PLA - I though it might be the case and this is the reason to tell the filament specifically.
With ABS and ASA ususally i don't face any problems (granted not so big details in x/y), but i do raft adhesion support on them.
Did not do cleaning with Isopropanol soon - will do it now.I go with PLA only for this project and only because it was suggested by the part designer.

Frustration with PLA prints not sticking
Hi all,
i decided to get here for the advise after many hours of frustration and half spool of PLA wasted.
Usually i print mainly ABS and ASA and don't complain from the results, but this timeFirst some basic information.
Printer:
My main machine and the one i try to use for this project is modified self-constructed HEVO based printer. Linear rails for movement with 20x20 extrusion to support X;
Hemera extruder with titanium heat-brake, copper heat block, PT1000 and 0.5mm "nozzel X";
300x300 MK3 Chinese knock-off aluminum heat-bed (not perfectly flat i know) with BuildTak FlexPlate system on top and BuldTak original sheet on the flex plate.
Duet3 6CH MB (standalone) with IR sensor for bed leveling.Material used for the project:
FormFutura white rPLA3D Model i try to print:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4073663Setting tried so far:
40 to 75 deg C for heat bed
190-215 deg on nozzle
from so close to bed that it leaves a permanent mark on BuildTak to so far that get almost perfect circle on initial layer lines.
Glued "painters tape" on second plate and used all of the above settings again.
Finally - upgraded from RRFW 3.2.2 to 3.3all of this leads only to peeling edges and on 10-ish millimeters form build plate i stop the print as it is so badly pealed that start hitting IR probe. (forgot to mention that on one of the experiment i used brim)
In conclusion:
Any ideas what to do in order to get this cursed PLA to stick would be highly appreciated.
I apologize for this long post, but i am really frustrated -
Mini 5+ tool fan stops midprint
Good day,
Have a question in regards to my Duet Mini 5+ that i cannot answer myself:
for some reason tool fan stops after 20 or so minutes in print. For fail-over i tried to switch off temperature control (delete T45), to set it to 20 deg C and also (currently) set M106 command with parameter S1.0 (instead of generated by the config tool S1).
Duet is running firmware as received - 3.2.2 i have not update it yet as i try to "commission the machine" with the new board.
Here are my config.g:; Configuration file for Duet 3 Mini 5+ (firmware version 3) ; executed by the firmware on start-up ; ; generated by RepRapFirmware Configuration Tool v3.2.3 on Mon May 03 2021 12:39:45 GMT+0300 (Eastern European Summer Time) ; General preferences G90 ; send absolute coordinates... If i start tool fan from DWC upon notice it was back to 0% - it do start again for next 20 or so minutes.
Machine is (was) modified CTC Prusa I3.PS
Also any idea how to unclog cold part of e3d v6 from ABS would be appreciated -
RE: Problem duet3 mini5+ - Z axis don't move
As i can see you use 2 Z-Axis motors and RR FW 3.2.2
I had strange behavior when i declared two values for M92, M201, M203, M566 and M906 until i switched to single value.
So for experiment - try to use only one value for Z in these.example:
M92 X80.00 Y80.00 Z800.00 E420.00:420.00

RE: Duet 3 Mini 5+ : Initial announcement
Hi team, do you have any information when ethernet board will be shipped to Europe?
I have ordered (and paid) mine on 10th of February and still have no ETA. -
RE: Recommended Power Supply 300W heated bed 24V
There can be also Option 4:
Mean Well HEP600-24...but it is almost double the prise of HRP 600-24

RE: Black frame (cover lens?) for the PanelDue 7i
Just to mention:
PanelDue uses resistive touchscreen not capacitive one - so putting any glass lens in front of it will make touch unusable. -

My settings for Hemera on this line are:
M566 X900.00 Y900.00 Z24.00:24.00 E1200.00also acceleration on mine is 500 instead of 250:
M201 X1500.00 Y1500.00 Z200.00:200.00 E500.00
maybe this will help? -
RE: PanelDueFirmware 3.2.10 released
Thank you for all your great work!
I really appreciate M997 S4 - firmware upgrade on the PanelDue is so much easier! -
RE: Paneldue5" kills VIN
What happens if you connect PanelDue via USB?
(disconnected from the printer) -
RE: massive overextrusion, E-Steps are calibrated
Do you have calipers?
can you raise your head and extrude (manually) some amount of filament in the air and then measure the diameter of the string that is going out of the nozzle? -
RE: PanelDuo 7i came with a 4-pin connector?
Those pictures are from the wiki, not your real ones correct?
As i remember - cable needs to be rewired on the Duet3 side, so please just follow the pictures you posted here (and it is a good idea to double check with the wiring diagram).
